Huge Pile of Cabin

Well, if this isn't an eyesore, I don't know what is!  I'm not sure what made me post this was just interesting I guess.  My apologies if this is an annoying post. It's kinda funny to me. Anyway... What would possess someone to build this thing...that is the real question.  Is it photo shopped? Or is it real?
Anyone care to weigh in on this one?

Adorable Kids Room with Loft Style Bed and Study Area

Gotta love this cool room!  My kids have always enjoyed the loft style bed because it provides them with extra room by making best use of the space available.  The loft bed provides them a bird eye view of everything around them and the little homework/office area underneath gives them a super cool space for their business affairs.  Haha.

I know these loft beds can be bought online or they can even be made from scratch if you're a handy person.  Some come with dresser areas built in and extra storage.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed my post for today and that it has given you some inspiring ideas to implement in your home.

Cabin - Minecraft Style!!

Hi y'all!  Hope you're having a great weekend so far!  I thought I'd post something fun for today.  This is something my kids would dream up, even though it's not one of their creations.  I wouldn't know how to get a picture of any of their awesome designs onto my laptop!!  And believe me, they have come up with some insane buildings and creations!

This cabin has it all! From insulated ground level living for maintaining cooler interior temperatures, to a rooftop party area complete with disco lighting feature. I could totally live here.  There's even a separate guest quarters on the top level for when your friends stay over.  And I think that's a garden area!  What cabin wouldn't have a garden area anyways?!

Well, off to enjoy the day! I hope you enjoy yours as well!!

Handsome Cabin Great Room*

Now, this place was probably professionally decorated.  I mean, come on. Everything is perfectly placed and matches the rustic cabin theme.

The things I like: I like the use of leather in the furniture. That gives it a rich feel.  I like the log beams overhead and high vaulted ceilings.  I like the triangular shaped fireplace. It reminds me of Aztec design, or ancient times of the Pyramids.

The things I don't like: The decorations above the fireplace are too simple, as to not draw too much attention. In fact, everything in the room is trying not to draw any attention. Everything is the same color basically, so nothing stands out, except for the fireplace maybe.  Everything in this room is subdued if you ask me. I just think it's too safe for me.  I like a room with a little risk.  More color.  Bolder design choices.

I'd put some accents like this in there.  It offers a bit of color but still falls within the design of the space.

I like this table lamp too.  It's more Southwestern in design and a bit more colorful.

So, overall, do I like this room?  Yes, or I probably wouldn't have included it in my blog posts.  I definitely think it needs some improvements though.  Like some more interesting accents, and more color.

Thanks for stopping by!

Perching Cabin on River

I don't think I would like this cabin much.  It seems too unstable for me.  I like things on solid ground...but it IS interesting!!  I guess I could tolerate it for a swimming hang out, like these folks seem to be doing.  It definitely has a good view! Haha.  That is the perfect swimming hole though, for sure.  It looks like nice, clean water, and is pretty remote looking so not many people will be around.  If it's privately owned, then you would have the place all to yourselves. I wonder what would possess someone to build a cabin like that, perching on some rock? Maybe an architect or designer, or art enthusiast.

Rustic, Whitewashed Cabin Living Room

Wonderfully decorated and perfectly staged, this living room is easy to see myself in.  I love the muted, neutral fall colors.  I am also a fan of the whitewashed look, but I know a lot of you aren't.  I like the lighting elements used. They remind me of lanterns, which fits in with the whole design theme for cabins.  I like the style of the chairs too, with their open and simple design.  I appreciate the beam going across the top too.
Is that a gourd sitting by the basket?

Grand Staircase in a Cabin Home

Grand Staircase in a Cabin Home - Wow, this one takes the cake!  I love this staircase, don't you?  And there is even a lower level below this, since there's another staircase to the right.  Anyway, I love the rock work used in this space.  It brings a different texture to the space, other than wood.  The chandelier is nice too, with its faux candles around the circular rim.
Would you add anything to make this space more beautiful?  I always like a bit more color, but maybe not in this case.  It's pretty just the way it is!

TGIF!! Small European Cabin

Happy Friday y'all!  I haven't been keeping up with my TGIF posts.  I can appreciate Fridays, as can most people.  But my work schedule has changed a bit and now Friday is not my Friday anymore.  But anyhoo...Here is a post to wish you Happy Friday!

I am a total sucker when it comes to interesting buildings, and this small cabin is no exception.  This one is located in Europe, so it's a little far away if you live in the states, but it's still worth mentioning and showing you.  I like the asymmetrical lines that are used to build this into a unique shape. It's not just perpendicular lines that are straight up and down.

I am not fond about the snow though, that can melt away forever!

Foggy and Secluded A-Frame Cabin on a Lake

This is the perfect location for an a-frame cabin, or any home for that matter. I would be in heaven if I got to live here! I love the lights hung from the trees.  It creates a fun and festive ambiance.  The tranquil lake waters is what makes this so great!

Creech House - Whitefish, Montana*

Isn't this a grand cabin home!?  Creech House is owned by Kay Creech, who wanted an elaborate and sophisticated home, but one with security and amenities galore.  This huge home has 16 rooms, including 7 bedrooms and can sleep 34 people if necessary!   Talk about accommodations!!!  This home also boasts 10 bathrooms, so there's never one far from your room.  There's also 4 large decks, so your guests will be able to enjoy the breathtaking views of Glacier National Park from any floor.

This home was built with a high-tech security system, with smartphone accessible features such as the ability to call the police or fire departments remotely.  It can also check locks on doors and windows throughout the home, so you'll never feel unsafe in this home.

Love this home so much that you want to buy it?  Well, you're in luck, because if you have $16 million on hand, this home can be all yours!

In order to furnish a home of this size, you'll need to do most of your buying online.  There are many stores that offer large selections of cabin furniture, but I like this one because it offers free shipping on all of their items.  Shipping charges on heavy furniture can sure add up.

This store has tables, lamps, chairs, rugs, art, and kitchen and bath accessories.  They even have outdoor fountains.

Benches and tables like these are also available. They are made in the USA, constructed of solid steel and wood.

Interesting Tiny House or Cabin Retreat

I love it when geometric design takes stage in the structure of a home.  I don't mind the boxy shape or simple design.  I think it lends to it's beauty.

I like how it's perched up on stilts, which would give you a better view of the landscape.

That metal sheet slides back and forth across to give you privacy, since the one side of the house is all windows.  And the cantilevered roof gives you shade while on the patio.  Looks like it could be on of Frank Lloyd Wright's designs, albeit quite simple.

What do you think?  Would you enjoy a retreat like this?

Large Cabin Bedroom - Complete with Rock Work and Beams

Isn't this a handsome bedroom?!  I think it's the embodiment of masculinity.  I like how the rustic rock archway over the bed contrasts the plush leather headboard.  The room's masculine feel comes from the strong beam overhead, ornate rock work, the rich brown furnishings, and the muted colors used throughout.  There are also a few feminine qualities to the room such as, the simple yet elegant chandelier, the white table lamps, the oriental rug and the silky throw pillows.  It gives a nice balance and feel to the room.

The only thing that's not working for me is the lack of color.  I usually like a bit more variety in my color schemes, such as brighter throw pillows, or some art on the walls.  But overall, I like this room.  What do you think?

Tropical Getaway!! What a beauty!!

Now isn't this interesting!?  I think this is almost comical!  I love it though, for some reason.  It's got charm. The location is fabulous and it's quite unique.  It might not look like the cabins I usually post on here, but that is what I like about it the most!

I've updated this post to say that I found out it's a restaurant.  The wording on the side is actually correct.  I think it is still open for business too!

Would you come to dine here?  I definitely would!

Secluded and Serene Glass Tiny House

Now, I don't know if I'd go for a place like this since there's no privacy, but it certainly is cute. I like the overall d...
