This is a nice Great Room. The use of southwestern furnishings gives it a more casual feel and look. The rug is a bit too Asian to really go in this space with the southwest decor, but at least it's the same color scheme. I also am not crazy about the windows overlooking the lake. If I lived next to a lake like that, I definitely would not have windows that obstruct or break up my view! Yes, they are interesting windows, but I do not like them in this situation. That lake is way too beautiful to block it.
What I liked most about this photo is the spiral staircase. An incredible amount of time goes into spiral staircases. They are engineered and designed very specifically and carefully, which is why they are so interesting to me. There are many different types of spiral staircases, some more ornate than others, but all are beautiful. I've never met a spiral staircase that I didn't like!

Beautiful A-Frame Cabin! I love the natural looking furnishings, and the use of wood in the space. Normally I don't like so much wood, but this space uses different colors of wood, which creates diversity and variety. It's definitely not boring and it's a bit eclectic.
The bedroom must be at the other end of the cabin, or maybe there's an addition somewhere next to the kitchen etc. Or possibly it's in a loft space.

Yes, there is such thing as Glamping. It's essentially camping, but glamorous. It is often for people who want to get out in nature, but who refuse to sleep on the ground. Or someone who wants to stay in a cabin, but wants modern amenities. Nothing wrong with that. The link above is to their website, if you are so inclined to see what they have available for Glamping properties.
I just think it's an interesting concept, this Glamping. I grew up camping the old fashioned way, in a tent, on the hard ground. I wouldn't change a thing. But now that I'm older, softer bedding is necessary. I usually bring my cot, but I still prefer to camp in an actual tent.

This is such a unique fireplace! It is definitely the focal point in this room. It reminds me of the inside of a tee pee because that's where they put their fire, so the smoke goes up through the middle to the outside. And it has these huge wood "spokes" coming out from the center, which kind of resembles a wheel. What I really like about this is that the fireplace goes way up, past the "spokes", all the way to a very tall ceiling. I wonder what the rest of the house looks like?
I am not sure why the chairs are facing different directions. It leads me to believe that there is another sitting area facing something else, like a window or something. I would like to visit this home, or own it for a retreat.

I say kids lofted room because it looks like a kid might stay there, but it could be an adult's room as well. Maybe it's in a tiny house, so that's the only bedroom area. That could be the case...
Either way, what a neat sleeping area. I like the different colored wood on the walls, and the use of branches for the ladder and railing. It definitely has a cabin-y feel to it. I never feel like I could live in a tiny home, but I could do it for vacations and stuff. I know my kids would love hanging out and spending the night in here.
It looks like they have antler style door pulls on their cabinets. With their uneven size, I would say they are probably real. If you are wanting the same look, but don't have access to real antlers, they sell faux ones online.
Here's a picture and a link.

Now, this is my kind of home! It's modern, yet has some really cozy elements like the wood staircase and custom wood paneling on the right hand wall. I like how everything feels so open, with the open concept floor plan. And the loft is really open too, since glass was used to frame it in. I'm assuming that this person lives alone, since the loft looks like it's used as a bedroom. I would use it as an office probably, or a reading nook, since it's not really private.
I know this doesn't really fit in the cabin type of home, but I still like it. Cabin home styles can vary greatly, depending on the look you're going for. Some are made all of wood, some are more modern like this one with mixed materials. There's no wrong or right way to having a retreat to call your own. And if this home was located 15 minutes from any town or city, some might feel like it's a rustic retreat.

This accent wall is all about rustic cabin living. From the pictures of stacked wood, to the skiing pictures, this wall screams cabin retreat! The only thing missing is a grizzly bear sitting in the room.
I don't know that I would have gone so overboard with the number of pictures on this wall. It's a bit over kill. I probably would have done fewer pictures, or added some family pictures in the mix. But you can't argue that this wall means business, as far as what cabin life means to them. They even have ski and snowshoe props in the corner. \
My favorite thing on the wall, and probably the newest item, is the deer mount made out of wicker type material. Or maybe it's woven metal, or other organic material. Either way, it's my favorite thing about this wall. What's yours?

This is a luxurious, yet rustic cabin guestroom, with a long horn accent piece on the wall. Wall art is important in any home, and with cabins you can have a little fun. I mean, what other type of decor lets you hang up your prized possessions (like your hunting trophies...) on your wall?
The long horn steer wall display, the fur throw on the bed, and the rough wood paneling on the walls help make the room feel rustic. But when you add soft touches like the velvety bedspread, the neutral colored curtains, and the unique hanging lamp, you help make the room feel more relaxing and cozy. Plus the doors open up to an outdoor gathering space. What more could you want in a guestroom?

I'm always a fan of nice cabin bathrooms! Bathrooms should be as nice as the rest of the home, with no expenses spared. My dad is a stone mason and he does showers like this all the time. He uses stone that he mines himself and chooses pieces and types of stone based on what his clients are looking with regard to color, price and texture. This shower definitely brings you closer to nature!

Now this is a great room! It has such charm! It does look a little staged, with the skis sitting in the corner, but still a great room. I like the swag on the windows. Greenery in any room always makes it look more welcoming. I think the lamps could be improved upon and I found some that would be a better fit for this type of room.
Whatever you choose for lighting in your cabin, make sure that it is ample for the space. Cabins tend to be a bit darker than other houses, so always have more that you think you might need.
And don't forget to have fun with your lighting choices!!

My oh My! Wouldn't this be a nice way to start your day?! I love the rustic wood features below the counter, and the cabinets are super handy too! It would look great in an upscale or modern cabin. Now, if the flooring was heated, that would be divine!

Now, isn't this a wonderful place to cozy up with a good book? I always like lofts because people tend to forget you are up there. It's a nice way to escape from the busyness of a room, without totally being removed from what's going on. It's also a nice way to spy on your kids without them knowing it!
